(May 28, 2019, 11:51 AM EDT) -- JACKSON, Miss. — A 7-2 Mississippi Supreme Court on May 23 reinstated a wholesale beer distributor’s claims that Anheuser-Busch LLC violated the state’s Beer Industry Fair Dealing Act (BIFDA) when invoking the “match-and-redirect” provision in a sales contract between the parties, finding that the statute is similar to franchise law and that allowing the seller to choose its distributor to spurn a competitor “undermine[s] the statutory separation of the beer industry into three tiers” (Rex Distributing Company Inc. v.
