6th Circuit Asked To Affirm Denials Of Injunctions In Birth Control Cases

Mealey's (June 10, 2015, 8:14 AM EDT) -- GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The federal government on Feb. 20, 2014, urged the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to affirm the denials of preliminary injunctions sought by two groups of Catholic organizations in their challenges to the birth control mandate contained in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) (Michigan Catholic Conference, et al. v. Kathleen Sebelius, et al., No. 13-2723, 6th Cir.; The Catholic Diocese of Nashville, et al. v. Kathleen Sebelius, et al., No. 13-6640, 6th Cir.).
