Mealey's (April 17, 2019, 4:21 PM EDT) -- NEW YORK — After dismissing a pro se insured’s claim against a law firm in a Superstorm Sandy coverage dispute, the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals held March 14 that the insured’s remaining claim against a federal flood insurer can proceed in a federal district court, finding that the lower court has exclusive jurisdiction over the claim and the insured’s amended complaint was sufficient for the insurer to file an answer asserting any defenses for its purported failure to fully pay the insured’s flood damage claim (Mohammed Keita v.
