Seminole Tribe Says Florida Breached Compact By Not Renewing Card Games

(October 29, 2015, 12:30 PM EDT) -- TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The State of Florida has breached a gaming compact with the Seminole Tribe and violated the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) by not allowing the tribe to continue to conduct certain card games while permitting non-Indian entities to conduct such games and by failing to negotiate with the tribe over the issue, the tribe alleges in a declaratory relief action filed Oct. 26 in federal court (Seminole Tribe of Florida v.
