Glyphosate Plaintiffs Must Show ‘But For’ Causation In Roundup Case, Monsanto Says

(January 30, 2019, 1:37 PM EST) -- SAN FRANCISCO — Monsanto Co. on Jan. 28 filed a brief in California federal court, arguing that in the multidistrict litigation for Roundup products, which contain the active ingredient glyphosate, a finding of “legal cause” under California law requires that the plaintiffs must show that “but for” Monsanto’s negligence, they would not have sustained an injury (In re:  Roundup Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2741, N.D.
