Federal Judge Permanently Enjoins ACA Contraceptive Mandate
Mealey's (June 16, 2015, 10:02 AM EDT) -- DENVER — Saying the government’s argument that it must consent to any injunction “offends the very structure of our government,” a federal judge in Colorado on March 16 issued an injunction limited to the contraceptive mandate found in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) and said the injunction should remain in place until changed by the court (William Newland, et al. v. Sylvia Burwell, et al., No. 12-1123, D. Colo.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 51899).
