Judge Finds ACA Employer Mandate Applies To Indian Tribes

Mealey's (June 16, 2015, 9:38 AM EDT) -- CHEYENNE, Wyo. — An Indian tribe waived challenges to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)’s large-employer mandate by not raising its concerns during the notice-and-comment period, and the mandate both applies to tribes and should not be enjoined, a federal judge in Wyoming held Feb. 26 (Northern Arapaho Tribe, et al. v. Sylvia Burwell, et al., No. 14-247, D. Wyo.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 30480).
