Cardiologist Sentenced To 42 Months In Prison For Health Care Fraud

(November 2, 2018, 1:14 PM EDT) -- LONDON, Ky. — A federal judge in Kentucky on Nov. 1 sentenced a cardiologist to 42 months in prison and ordered him to pay a $50,000 fine and pay $257,515 in restitution to Medicare, Medicaid and private insurers after he was found guilty of health care fraud for implanting pacemakers in patients who did not need them (United States v.
