Judge Holds CIETAC Award Should Be Confirmed Under New York Convention

Mealey's (September 21, 2018, 1:05 PM EDT) -- RIVERSIDE, Calif. — After finding that a company that allegedly purchased unpaid for supplements failed to assert any defenses to confirmation of a Chinese arbitral award pursuant to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, a California federal judge on Sept. 18 issued his findings of fact, holding that the award should be confirmed in favor of the seller of the products (Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone International Trade Service Co., Ltd. v.
