New York Federal Judge Tosses Class Complaint Over Black Truffle Labeling

Mealey's (September 5, 2018, 11:56 AM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A class complaint accusing Trader Joe’s Co. and two other companies of violating numerous laws by improperly labeling a flavored olive oil with the words “black truffle” was dismissed Aug. 30 by a New York federal judge, who ruled that the label was clear and did not mislead consumers into believing that the product contained real black truffle (Tyoka Brumfield, et al. v.
