Mealey's (August 15, 2018, 1:24 PM EDT) -- SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah federal judge on Aug. 7 remanded two opioid lawsuits filed by five counties, rejecting arguments by distributor defendants that the lawsuits necessarily involved alleged violations of the federal Controlled Substances Act (Uintah County, Utah et al. v. Purdue Pharma, L.P., et al., No. 18-585, Weber County, Utah v. Purdue Pharma, L.P., et al., No. 18-89, D. Utah, 2018 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 13310 and 2018 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 133312)....
