Disability Insurer’s Denial Of Benefits Was Reasonable, Federal Judge Says
(August 9, 2018, 3:51 PM EDT) -- BALTIMORE — A disability insurer did not abuse its discretion in denying a plan participant’s long-term disability benefits claim because the evidence shows that the denial was reasonable and was made after a fair review was conducted, a Maryland federal judge said Aug. 7 (Karin Reidy v. Unum Life Insurance Company of America, No. 16-2926, D. Md., 2018 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 133287).
