Attorney Seeks $412.25M From Monsanto In Bellwether Trial Over Glyphosate

(August 9, 2018, 1:39 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — The attorney representing a California man who contends that he developed cancer as a result of exposure to glyphosate on Aug. 7 presented closing arguments in the first trial related to the herbicide Roundup and asked a jury to “change the world” by holding Monsanto Co. accountable for its “reckless disregard for human health,” which he said warranted an award of more than $412.25 million in combined damages (DeWayne Johnson v. Monsanto Company, No. CGC 16550128, Calif. Super., San Francisco Co.).
