Illinois City Denies Wrongdoing In Suit Over Smart Electric Meters

Mealey's (October 1, 2015, 1:57 PM EDT) -- CHICAGO — In an answer filed Sept. 30 in Illinois federal court, the City of Naperville, Ill., denied claims of unequal and discriminatory treatment in violation of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by a group of citizens opposed to the use of smart meters by the local electric utility due to purported privacy and health concerns (Naperville Smart Meter Awareness v. City of Naperville, No. 1:11-cv-09299, N.D. Ill.)....
