9th Circuit Reverses Rulings Punishing Firm Representing Homeowners Association

(October 1, 2015, 7:19 AM EDT) -- PASADENA, Calif. — A Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel on Sept. 22 overturned rulings by a federal judge in California disqualifying a law firm from representing a homeowners association and finding the firm in contempt of court for disobeying the order, ruling that the firm did not have significant contacts with the defendant developer to establish an implied attorney-client relationship (Legacy Villas at La Quinta Homeowners Association, et al. v.
