Home Depot: Banks Should Take Responsibility For Data Breach-Related Losses

Mealey's (September 29, 2015, 2:19 PM EDT) -- ATLANTA — In a Sept. 25 brief supporting a motion to dismiss claims brought against it by a putative class of financial institutions (FI plaintiffs) related to a 2014 breach of its network, Home Depot Inc. argued to a Georgia court that the banks need to take responsibility for their role in the losses they claim to have incurred as a result of the breach (In re: The Home Depot Inc., Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, No. 1:14-md-02583, N.D. Ga.).
