9th Circuit Affirms Land-Into-Trust Deal For California Tribe’s Casino

(May 3, 2018, 11:23 AM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — The United States properly took land into trust for a California Indian tribe so the tribe can operate a casino and hotel complex at the site, the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals held May 2, rejecting challenges to the land acquisition by two other tribes that run their own casinos, citizens’ groups, several individuals and one business (Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community v.
