Judge: Service Proper, Jurisdiction Exists In Case Originating In Virgin Islands

(September 22, 2015, 10:03 AM EDT) -- PHILADELPHIA — Affidavit testimony that a plaintiff conducted service of process in compliance with Virgin Islands law but that the records are hopelessly lost or destroyed suffices for personal jurisdiction, a federal judge in Pennsylvania held Aug. 31 (Edward C. Cowart v. Foster Wheeler Co., et al., No. MDL 875, 11-45885, E.D. Pa.).
