California Supreme Court Remands Classroom Stabbing Lawsuit

(March 26, 2018, 1:48 PM EDT) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A majority of the California Supreme Court on March 22 found that a college owed a duty to protect a student who was stabbed by a mentally disturbed man during a chemistry class after finding that colleges do have a special relationship with students and that the college owes a duty to protect the student (The Regents of the University of California v.  The Superior Court of Los Angeles County, No. S230568, Calif.
