Floor Manufacturer Tells High Court Its Floor Design Is Valid, Copyrightable

(September 15, 2015, 1:29 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A federal appellate panel properly found that Mannington Mills Inc.’s wooden floor design contained originality and, thus, its design is valid and copyrightable despite copying elements found in nature, the flooring manufacturer asserts in an Aug. 26 brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court (Home Legend LLC v. Mannington Mills Inc., No. 15-117, U.S. Sup.).
