Federal Magistrate Judge Rejects Corrective Notice In Repossession Class Suit

(March 1, 2018, 9:18 AM EST) -- TOPEKA, Kan. — A Kansas federal magistrate judge on Feb. 21 denied a motion by a servicemember seeking the issuance of corrective notices to potential class members in a suit over unlawful vehicle repossessions who were sent settlement offers by the defendant bank but ruled that if class certification is granted, the court will entertain applications to void the releases obtained by the defendant before the time it included details about the pending class action in its settlement offers (Jin Nakamura v.
