Judge: ERISA Case Based On ‘Imprudent Decisions’ Fails; Supreme Court Bars Claim

LOUIS — A federal judge in Missouri on Feb. 21 dismissed a lawsuit under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, ruling that a company did not breach the act merely because it made allegedly “imprudent decisions” regarding its retirement investment plan.  The judge also said the claim was foreclosed by U.S. Supreme Court precedent (Alexander Y.
