(December 18, 2017, 11:32 AM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A California couple on Nov. 27 asked the U.S. Supreme Court to resolve whether three orphaned girls must live with a member of an Indian tribe to which their father belonged under the Indian Child Welfare Act, even though the girls said they were sexually abused by a relative who is a member of the tribe (Efrim Renteria, et al. v.
