Groups: President Trump’s Grand Staircase Escalante Decision ‘Unconstitutional’
(December 6, 2017, 2:15 PM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Conservation groups sued President Donald J. Trump on Dec. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, contending that his decision to “vastly” shrink the boundaries of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and eliminate protection for the resources there is “unconstitutional, unlawful, and unauthorized” (Grand Staircase Escalante Partners, et al. v. Donald J. Trump, et al., No. 17-2591, D. D.C.).
