California Appellate Panel Finds Condo Transfer Constituted Elder Abuse

Mealey's (November 1, 2017, 1:24 PM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — A California appellate panel on Oct. 24 ruled in an unpublished opinion that a series of transactions that resulted in the transfer of ownership of a condominium from an elder adult to his friend constituted elder abuse but that a California trial court erred when it ruled that there was a breach of contract after the friend refused to honor an agreement between the two parties to share in the proceeds of a federal case as that case was dismissed and later refiled in state court (Jeffrey Duran, et al. v.
