Case Does Not Constitute 'Run-Of-The-Mill’ Attorney Fee Dispute, Federal Judge Says
Mealey's (September 2, 2015, 12:15 PM EDT) -- LAFAYETTE, La. — A Louisiana federal judge held Aug. 19 that an underlying claim against an attorney insured is integral to and cannot be divorced from the legal services he performed for his client, rejecting a professional liability insurer’s argument that coverage is barred by the policy’s “legal fee” exclusion (Edwards versus Continental Casualty Co., No. 15-00168, W.D. La.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 111037).
