(October 24, 2017, 11:40 AM EDT) -- PITTSBURGH — A federal judge in Pennsylvania on Sept. 29 partially granted judgment on the pleadings in a dispute over a municipality’s right to prohibit underground injection control (UIC) wells used for disposing waste from hydraulic fracturing activities on grounds that the ordinance the local government enacted is preempted by state and federal law.
