Panel: Anti-Fracking Group’s Ballot Initiative Fails

(September 1, 2015, 1:53 PM EDT) -- COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A Colorado appellate panel on Aug. 27 affirmed a trial court’s decision that a group opposing hydraulic fracturing failed to show that the City Charter for the City of Colorado Springs was in violation of the Municipal Home Rule Act (MHRA); therefore, the ballot initiative for which the group sought approval was properly denied (Colorado Springs Citizens for Community Rights v. City of Colorado Springs, Colo., No. 14CA1028, Colo. App, Div. 3; 2015 Colo. App. LEXIS 1320).
