Metropolitan Water District Approves Its Share Of California WaterFix Project

(October 11, 2017, 2:53 PM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — The directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC) on Oct. 10 approved the district’s commitment to paying 26 percent of the financing for the California WaterFix Project.

Metropolitan said its share is about $4.3 billion of the $17 billion project. 

The $17 billion is an estimated cost.

The directors also voted to finalize the project’s governance structures, to participate in an “adaptive management program” and to join separate joint power authorities to oversee construction and finance of the project....
