Judge: Company’s Shift Change Didn’t Violate ACA Breast-Pumping Rule

Mealey's (August 31, 2015, 3:18 PM EDT) -- CLEVELAND — An ambulance company had legitimate reasons not to return a paramedic who wished to express breast milk during work to third shift and did not violate the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), a federal judge affirmed in adopting a magistrate judge’s report on Aug. 28 (Brittani Ball v. Ohio Ambulance Solutions LLC, et al., No. 14-355, N.D. Ohio).
