7th Circuit Upholds Constructive Discharge Ruling For Employer

(August 28, 2015, 3:12 PM EDT) -- CHICAGO — An Illinois trial court properly granted an employer’s motion for judgment as a matter of law on a constructive discharge claim because the employee, who retired, failed to show that the decision was made under duress, the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled Aug. 14 (Margaret Wright v. Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Nos. 13-1552 & 13-1553, 7th Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 14329).
