Federal Judge Finds Injury-Related Claims Against NFL Are Preempted

LOUIS — After finding that claims related to traumatic head impacts asserted by former professional football players were time-barred or preempted by law, a Missouri federal judge on Aug. 18 granted motions to dismiss filed by the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA), the union representing professional football players, and others to dismiss two cases filed against them (Christian Ballard, et al. v.
