Insurer Questions Impartiality Of Reinsurance Arbitration Umpire

(August 19, 2015, 12:44 PM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A Brazilian insurer told a federal court in New York on Aug. 7 that three arbitration awards in its reinsurer’s favor should be vacated because of certain alleged improprieties of the reinsurer and the arbitration’s umpire (National Indemnity Company v. IRB Brasil Resseguros S.A., No. 15-cv-03975, S.D. N.Y.).
