Claim Under Unfair Prong Of UCL Continues In Trans Fat Class Action Suit

(August 18, 2015, 10:31 AM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge in California on July 15 allowed a claim under the unfair prong of the state’s unfair competition law (UCL) to continue in a class action lawsuit accusing a packaged noodle manufacturer of misleading consumers by wrongly stating that its products contain zero grams of trans fat (Victor Guttmann v. Nissin Foods [U.S.A.] Company Inc., No. 15-567, N.D. Calif.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 92756).
