ACA Tax Subsidy Challengers Urge Review By Top Court

Mealey's (June 12, 2015, 12:25 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congress limited tax credits to individuals enrolling in state exchanges as a “carrot” to entice states to create those exchanges under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), plaintiffs told the U.S. Supreme Court in a July 31, 2014, petition for writ of certiorari (David King, et al. v. Sylvia Mathew Burwell, et al., No. 14-114, U.S. Sup.).
