Judge: Ethnic Characteristics Of Injured Party Cannot Be Used To Reduce Damages

(August 12, 2015, 2:48 PM EDT) -- BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A federal judge in New York on July 30 ruled that general ethnic characteristics of a person injured by exposure to lead-based paint could not be used to reduce the amount of damages the landlord was required to pay (G.M.M. v. Mark Kimpson, No. 13-5059, E.D. N.Y.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 99715).
