California Appeals Court Affirms That Old Judgment Caps Water Withdrawals

(August 10, 2015, 2:53 PM EDT) -- SAN DIEGO — A California appeals panel on July 31 affirmed a trial court’s ruling that a 60-year-old water rights settlement puts a “hard cap” on water that one water district can withdraw from a river basin (Rancho Pauma Mutual Water Company v. Yuima Municipal Water District, No. D065153, Calif. App., 4th Dist., Div. 1; 2015 Cal. App. LEXIS 670).
