New York Federal Judge Rejects T.G.I. Friday’s Proposed Wage Settlements
(August 10, 2015, 1:36 PM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A New York federal judge on July 6 rejected a restaurant’s wage-and-hour settlement with tipped employees, finding that the nondisclosure provisions in the agreement were improper and the waivers and releases were “too sweeping” to be fair and reasonable (Jamel Flood, et al. v. Carlson Restaurants Inc., et al., No. 14-2740, S.D. N.Y.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 88068).
