Oglala Sioux Tribe Member Seeks Lifting Of Injunction Preventing Farming Of Hemp

Mealey's (August 6, 2015, 8:37 AM EDT) -- SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe on July 30 asked a federal court in South Dakota to lift a permanent injunction entered against him and his family preventing them from growing industrial hemp on reservation land, saying significant changes in the law since the injunction was put in place merit the lifting of the injunction (United States of America v. Alexander “Alex” White Plume, et al., No. 02-5071, D. S.D.).
