Sino Legend Chemical Co. Asks U.S. Supreme Court To Review ITC Decision Banning Its Imports

(December 21, 2016, 12:00 PM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sino Legend (Zhangjiagang) Chemical Co. Ltd. filed a petition for writ of certiorari in the U.S. Supreme Court Sept. 30 asking it to review a Federal Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruling upholding a U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) decision to ban the Chinese company from importing rubber resins that allegedly infringe a formula of New York-based SI Group Inc., saying the court’s misreading of the Tariff Act of 1930 allows the ITC to police the misappropriation of trade secrets worldwide, even when the acts are legal under the laws of the country where they occurred (Sino Legend [Zhangjiagang] Chemical Co.
