9th Circuit Affirms Fishing Grounds Of Suquamish Indian Tribe

Mealey's (July 30, 2015, 11:36 AM EDT) -- SEATTLE — A panel of the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on July 27 affirmed a district court’s holding that the usual and accustomed fishing grounds of the Suquamish Indian Tribe extends to Possession Sound, Port Gardner Bay and the bays on the west side of Whidbey Island, specifically Admiralty Bay, Mutiny Bay, Useless Bay and Cultus Bay (Tulalip Tribes v. Suquamish Indian Tribe, No. 13-35773, 9th Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 13015).
