Casino Challengers Seek Review Of Approvals For Washington Tribe
(November 10, 2016, 10:03 AM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A community organization, homeowners and two gambling businesses opposed to a new Indian casino in Washington state on Oct. 27 asked the U.S. Supreme Court to decide whether a federal appellate court properly interpreted the Indian Reorganization Act (IRA) in rejecting the opposition’s challenge to the casino (Citizens Against Reservation Shopping, et al. v. Sally Jewell, Secretary of the Interior, et al., No. 16-572, U.S. Sup.; 2016 U.S. S. Ct. Briefs LEXIS 3930).
