7 California Water Districts File Amicus Brief Opposing Clean Water Rule

Mealey's (November 9, 2016, 12:39 PM EST) -- CINCINNATI — Seven California water districts on Nov. 1 sought to file an amicus curiae brief in the challenge to the Clean Water Rule pending in the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, arguing that the rule would extend federal authority to reservoirs, underground water distribution systems, water treatment plants and “hundreds of miles of open canals and aqueducts” (Murray Energy Corp., et al. v. United States Environmental Protection Agency, et al., No. 15-3751, et al., 6th Cir.).
