Insured Appeals Underinsured Motorist Coverage Dispute To 7th Circuit

Mealey's (November 8, 2016, 1:05 PM EST) -- CHICAGO — An insured has asked the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to reverse a lower federal court by declaring that he is owed $5 million in underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage under an umbrella insurance policy and that there is no set off for payment of workers’ compensation benefits (Dee Frye, et al v. Auto-Owners Insurance Company, No. 16-1677, 7th Cir.).
