Florida-Georgia Water Case Enters 2nd Week Of Trial Before High Court Master

Mealey's (November 8, 2016, 11:10 AM EST) -- PORTLAND, Maine — Florida’s U.S. Supreme Court water trial against Georgia is in its second week as of Nov. 7 (Florida v. Georgia, No. 142, Original, U.S. Sup.).

In its Oct. 12 pretrial brief, Georgia told a U.S. Supreme Court special master that Florida’s proposed remedies for alleged overdrafting of the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) River Basin will not address Florida’s alleged harm, will impose extreme costs on Georgia and cannot be imposed without the United States becoming a party to the case.
