9th Circuit Panel Majority: Arizona’s Precinct Vote Rule Is Legal, Constitutional

(November 4, 2016, 1:40 PM EDT) -- PASADENA, Calif. — A divided Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel on Nov. 2 upheld Arizona’s precinct vote rule, under which voters casting ballots on election day must do so at their assigned polling places, even though the state allows voters with mail-in ballots to deposit the ballots at any precinct in the voter’s county (Leslie Feldman, et al. v. Arizona Secretary of State’s Office, et al., No. 16-16865, 9th Cir., 2016 U.S. App. LEXIS 19754).
