Court Affirms Dismissal Of Illegal Lending Claims For Lack Of Jurisdiction

Mealey's (November 1, 2016, 8:02 AM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A California appeals court on Oct. 14 affirmed a trial court's ruling to dismiss a consumer's claims for violation of California's unfair competition law (UCL) and claims related to unconscionable lending, finding that she failed to show that the defendants had any connection to California (Kathrine Rosas v. Charles Hallinan, et al., No. A139936, Calif. App., 1st Dist., Div. 3; 2016 Cal. App. Unpub. LEXIS 7726).
