Facebook Biometrics Plaintiffs Cite Recent Rulings To Support Standing Per Spokeo

Mealey's (October 26, 2016, 12:44 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — In an Oct. 24 statement filed in California federal court, the plaintiffs in a putative class action alleging violation of an Illinois biometrics law by Facebook Inc. cite two recent federal court rulings that they say support their standing under Article III of the U.S. Constitution under the standard established in Spokeo Inc. v. Robins (136 S.Ct. 1540 [2016]) (In re Facebook Biometric Information Privacy Litigation, No. 3:15-cv-03747, N.D. Calif.).
