Utah Supreme Court Says 106-Year-Old Water Decree Can’t Be Modified

(October 25, 2016, 2:20 PM EDT) -- SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Supreme Court on Oct. 21 affirmed a trial court’s ruling that three canal companies cannot attempt to modify a 106-year-old water rights decree to get more than $75 a month from three water users (Little Cottonwood Tanner Ditch Company, et al. v. Sandy City, et al., No. 20150305, Utah Sup.; 2016 Utah LEXIS 127).
