Group’s Lawsuit Over Illinois City’s Installation Of Smart Meters Again Dismissed
(October 25, 2016, 1:15 PM EDT) -- CHICAGO — A group of Naperville, Ill., residents claiming health concerns and privacy violations from the installation of smart electric meters in the city saw its remaining equal protection claim dismissed Sept. 27 by an Illinois federal judge, who found no evidence of disparate treatment related to the meters’ installation (Naperville Smart Meter Awareness v. City of Naperville, No. 1:11-cv-09299, N.D. Ill.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 131722).
